Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using Findmyrunclub (the “Platform”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including the website, app, and related services, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a club or organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. What Findmyrunclub is

Findmyrunclub is a platform that helps people discover, join, and engage with run clubs. Runners can search for clubs, view schedules, RSVP, check in, and participate in community features. Clubs can list themselves, manage profiles, schedules, and related tools.

Discovery and joining are free. We may introduce optional paid features for runners or clubs in the future. Any paid features will be clearly described before you are charged.

The Platform is not a running coach, medical service, or organiser of the runs themselves. Clubs and their organisers are responsible for their own activities.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian.

By using the Platform you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law.

You may request deletion of your account through the Platform or by contacting us. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate purposes (for example, records of confirmed attendance or to prevent abuse).

5. User content and conduct

You retain ownership of content you submit (profiles, messages, reviews, stories, photos, etc.). By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

You are responsible for your content. Do not submit anything that:

• Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or invasive of privacy
• Infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights
• Contains spam, misleading information, or commercial solicitation outside permitted features
• Impersonates another person or club without authority

We may remove content that violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines, and we may do so without notice.

6. Clubs and organisers

Club listings must be accurate and kept reasonably up to date. Organisers are responsible for the information they publish (schedules, meeting points, pace groups, contact details, etc.) and for the conduct of their runs and events.

Only public contact details should be used. Private or sensitive information about individuals must not be posted without consent.

Claiming or managing a club requires that you are authorised to do so. We may ask for verification and may remove or reassign listings that appear unauthorised or inaccurate.

7. Reviews, attendance, and verification

Reviews and certain recognition features are limited to people whose attendance has been confirmed by the host or organiser. This is intentional: it supports trust and reduces fake or promotional content.

Confirmation of attendance is the responsibility of the club organiser. We do not independently verify every check-in or review.

Leaderboards, passport stamps, and similar features are for community engagement only and do not create any ranking, certification, or official record.

8. Community features (chat, forum, stories, etc.)

Chat, forums, stories, and similar features are provided to support connection around running. They are not private or secure communications. Do not share sensitive personal information.

We may moderate these areas. Moderation is not guaranteed to be comprehensive or instantaneous. Report content that violates the Community Guidelines.

9. Prohibited activities

You must not:

• Use the Platform for commercial advertising or sponsorship solicitation except where we explicitly allow it
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data
• Interfere with the Platform's operation or security
• Create fake accounts, fake clubs, or fake attendance
• Use the Platform to organise or promote unlawful activity

10. Intellectual property

The Platform, its design, trademarks, and underlying technology are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer them except as permitted by law or with our written consent.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular club, run, or user will be suitable for you.

Running involves inherent risks of injury. Participation in any run or event is at your own risk. We are not responsible for the actions of clubs, organisers, or other users, nor for the condition of routes, meeting points, or events.

We do not endorse any club, organiser, or content simply because it appears on the Platform.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (and any other applicable law), we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the greater of AUD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (if any).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory laws.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your participation in runs or events discovered through the Platform.

14. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Platform you consent to that processing as described.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and, where the changes are material, provide reasonable notice (for example by email or in-app notice). Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have in your place of residence.
